“For a child has been born for us; a son has been given to us. The responsibility of complete dominion will rest on His shoulders and His name will be … Prince of Peace!” Isaiah 9:6
Dear Passion and Fire family,
Hope this finds you all well and rejoicing in the Lord! We had a very enjoyable and productive June. Our speaking schedule was a little lighter, we finished the translation of “Isaiah” and “The Throne Room Prayer” book, our meetings were over the top fantastic and our family is doing fine! Thank you for praying for us!
The Father has a plan to make you more peaceful than you’ve ever been in your whole lifetime!
DREAM:
The other night I dreamt that I was in our basement (the sub-conscious, what lies beneath the façade of our unconscious self). All the furniture was moved out of the way (no hinderances) and it was flooded and full of water. Although it wasn’t an actual pool, I had my swimsuit on and decided to have a swim. It was so amazing and so refreshing. I thought to myself afterwards, “Why am I not worried about our basement being flooded?” And I heard the Lord say, “I have come to bring you peace no matter the circumstance.”
The peace that I felt in the dream I’ve only felt twice in my life to that degree of intensity. The first time was a supernatural experience that I had one morning as I awoke. I could feel the deepest level of peace vibrating throughout my whole body. I could hear with my spiritual ears, my cells singing out, “Let everything that has breathe praise the Lord!” The whole of my being was praising the Lord together. What an experience! I didn’t want it to end.
The other time was when we were working as missionaries in the jungles of Panama and our daughter was bitten by a bushmaster snake. When the Kuna people came to tell me that she had been bitten I immediately heard in my spirit, “You must remain calm” and the Spirit of Peace descended over my heart. From that moment on I felt a reassurance that our daughter would be healed and wouldn’t die. And I was able to walk through the horrific experience with the supernatural peace of God that passes all understanding guarding my heart and mind. The next morning the plane came in unannounced and transported her out to Panama City and she received medical treatment and was healed. Yes, the Prince of Peace has His perfect peace available for us to appropriate! He is coming to you today to give you that peace!
Right now there are a lot of things in turmoil around the world and maybe your life seems like it’s in turmoil too, but Jesus said, “Everything I’ve taught you is so that the peace which is in me will be in you and will give you great confidence as you rest in me. For in this unbelieving world you will experience trouble and sorrows, but you must be courageous for I have conquered the world!” John 16:33
We are lying to ourselves if we expect the world to suddenly turn around and be peaceful tomorrow. But even though we aren’t promised that the circumstances around us will suddenly change we can still walk in His peace. In fact, you can tell if you’re walking in the full strength of Holy Spirit power by whether or not you’re in peace.
John 14:27 “I leave the gift of peace with you-My peace. Not the kind of fragile peace given by the world, but My perfect peace. Don’t yield to fear or be troubled in your hearts- instead, be courageous!”
No matter what you may be walking through right now I see the Father putting His arm around you and drawing you in. He’s saying to your heart, “Heart be still. Heart be at peace, for I am here to help you! You don’t have to face this alone. I am coming to give you a settled peace. I’m here to move on your behalf. So, bring all your burdens to me. As you surrender your anxiety you will hear my voice behind you showing you the way that you should go. But if you continue on struggling you’ll miss the way.
Here are just a few of our peace stealers and the remedy:
-
- Unbelief -Resting in faith
“Now God has offered to us the same promise of entering into His realm of resting in confident faith. So, we must be extremely careful to ensure that we all embrace the fullness of that promise and not fail to experience it.” Hebrews 4:1 - Wrong focus – right focus
“…If anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things, and the God of peace will be with you.” Phil. 4:9 - Selfishness – Selflessness
“Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.” - Depression -Passion for Jesus
“Perfect, absolute peace surrounds those whose imaginations are consumed with You, they confidently trust in you.” Isaiah 26:3 - Unforgiveness- Choosing to forgive
“In every relationship, be swift to choose peace. Heb. 12:14 - Not knowing God’s love for you – Knowing your God, who He is & who you are
He is your “Prince of Peace” and you are His Shulamite. The very name Shulamite is a derivative of the word Shalom! You are His lover-friend, His Bride and He is your Prince. He came down from heaven to find you and to redeem you! There’s nothing He wouldn’t do for you! He’s already given His blood for you!And He is saying, “I leave the gift of peace with you!” John 14:27 You are becoming more and more like Him, your Solomon, which also is a derivative of the word “peace”. You are being made into His likeness, Princes and Princesses of Peace.
Declare this over yourself right now!
“Only God is my Savior, and He will not fail me. For He alone is my safe place. His wrap-around presence always protects me as my champion defender. There’s no risk of failure with God! So why would I let worry paralyze me, even when troubles multiply around me? God’s glory is all around me! His wrap-around presence is all I need, for the Lord is my Savior, my hero, and my life-giving strength.” (Psalm 62:5-7)
“Join me, everyone! Trust only in God every moment! Tell Him all your troubles and pour out your heart-longings to Him. Believe me when I tell you – He will help you!” (Psalm 62:8)
May you be blessed with His peace today in whatever you’re facing. Let me leave you with the benediction our Pastor prays over us every Sunday as go our way for the week. It’s adapted from Numbers 6:22-27.
The Lord bless you and keep you, the Lord lift up the light of His countenance upon you and give you peace; shalom unending, never broken, nothing lacking, nothing missing, the peace that passes all understanding! Amen
